Last week I spent an exorbitant amount of time looking at hotels around the world. I should probably stop subscribing to trendy hotel websites, but in the meantime I can’t help the inbox influx that leaves me daydreaming of where I want to go next. I was not ready to leave France and ended up crying (as I usually do) when we left our hotel in the south to go back to Paris. Similarly on our road trip, I was ready to get back in the car, drive off into the sunset, and continue on the road.

I stumbled on these cute pencils on Etsy, and it definitely didn’t help the urge to pick up and go…

Lately I’ve been dreaming a lot about Iceland. It’s a hop, skip and a jump away from the east coast, and it seems like a pretty exotic location for only a few hours plane ride. We had a 10 minute stop over in April when flying to Paris, and while I spent most of the time singing “Welcome to Iceland” à la Kristen Wiig’s Björk impression, I was quite bummed we didn’t stay for at least a day. Since then, the hot springs have been calling me – the aqua blue water, the steam rising out of the rocks, the breathtaking mountains, the northern lights! It’s all too much! We came within three clicks of booking a trip at the end of September, but after a night of sleeping on it, an abundance of wedding bills, and a need to hunker down and work, we decided it was best to push the trip back to some other time. Totally the responsible choice. >:|

So…Iceland…maybe I’ll see you in March, but for now, I’ll just have to settle with the pencils.
